Yard Sale

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

The Ministries Council is sponsoring a yard sale on May 17, 8 AM-1PM to support our missions outreach. Tables are available for rent with 2 options: $5 and 10% of your proceeds, or $10 flat fee. If you just want to donate goods to be sold, they can be left in the back downstairs classroom in the education building. We will need volunteers on Friday, May 16 at 4PM to do pricing. And we need volunteers on Saturday morning as early as 7 AM to carry things out and set up. And don’t neglect to come out and shop! (PS A clean-up crew will be needed at 1). We can’t succeed without YOU!

Spiritual Gifts Luncheon

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

The Lay Leadership Team will be hosting a luncheon after morning service on Sunday April 20th. Besides good food and fellowship, there will be opportunity to take the spiritual gifts survey. This is an important part of Shiloh’s efforts to help people get connected into a ministry that uses their gifts. The survey takes about 20 minutes to fill out and it is painless. If you haven’t had the opportunity to take the survey, this will be the perfect opportunity!

Hispanic and Community Outreach

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

This month we will have several children’s outreach events —Preston Highway, Breath of Life, and Shiloh. The children will make “gingerbread houses” out of graham crackers and candy. Each event needs “elves” for 2 purposes: help walk neighborhoods and hand out invitations, and to build the structure of the houses for the children to decorate later. We all want to cooperate and help in each other’s events.

Dec 8—1 PM Breath of Life—hand out flyers
Dec. 15—10 AM at Breath of Life—make houses
Dec. 17—Noon at Shiloh— hand out flyers
Dec. 22 —12:30 at Shiloh—make houses.
House-making preparation will take about 2-3 hours.
If you can help and need more information, please call Gary, Carole or Sherry.
Regular Hispanic service at 6:00 PM on the 22nd.

Missionary Lisa Fish to Speak

Monday, November 12th, 2007

“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so
that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order
that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ.” Colossians 2:2 (NIV)

I was raised in a Christian home and saved at a young age through my church’s Vacation Bible School program. When I was 13, the Lord called me to serve Him as a missionary during a mission conference. At the age of 19, I surrendered to Christ after realizing that His Spirit could live in and through me. During my years at Asbury College (Kentucky), the Lord led me to go on a summer mission trip to Kenya. I met a number of WGM missionaries on this trip and was led by God to apply for missionary appointment under WGM.

This gives you a preview of what Lisa will be bringing as she speaks at Shiloh on the morning of 11/18/2007 during the Sunday School Hour. There will be a light breakfast provided starting at 9:00 am of fruit, sausage biscuits, biscuits & gravey, milk, juice and coffee. At 9:30 we will meet in the Sanctuary to hear Lisa speak. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear and meet in person a dynamic missionary and a wonderful servant for the Lord. Make plans to be there!
