New Small Group Study Starting 4/30/2010

Monday, March 29th, 2010

We will be starting a new study on Tuesday evenings and have decided to read “Run with the Horses” by Eugene Peterson(translator of The Message Bible). Peterson is an author, seminary professor and pastor. Wonderful writer!
“Run with the Horses” uses the story of Jeremiah, in the Old Testament, to help us to ponder living life at its best. Peterson asks, “We all long to live life at its best-to fuse freedom and spontaneity with purpose and meaning. Why then do we often find our lives so humdrum, so unadventuresome, so routine? Or else so frantic, so full of activity, but still devoid of fulfillment? How do we learn to risk, to trust, to pursue wholeness and excellence — to run with the horses in the midst of life?”

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

You know there are 168 hours in a week. You just don’t know where they all go. So…why not take one of those hours you don’t what you did with and give it over to God?

Really. Why not? There are men’s groups Sat am @7 at the DQ in Prospect and 7 pm @ Java on Thursdays. Talk to Bill Parker or Jim Morse or Joe Taylor or Dave Jennings….

At home on Fridays? Women meet at noon for lunch and a great time of sharing around the book of the month. Talk to Carolyn Wade or Ann Hart or Melanie Winkle…

No good TV on Tuesdays? Join us at 7 for the Max Lucado ‘Fearless’ DVD study, complete with light dessert. Talk to Jim Morse or Jody Arthur or Iva Morse….

In need of prayer and support Wednesday morning? Our prayer group meets at 9 am for prayer and a devotional time on spiritual growth. Talk to Sherry Parker or Pastor Susan…

Bible Study Opportunities

Saturday, February 28th, 2009
  • Bible studies during Lent include our Tuesday evening 7 pm AVBS which begins a new program “Good God Theatre” beginning on March 17th. An evening of biblical retellings through drama and humor, this promises to be a chance to revisit the stories of the Old & New Testament you haven’t seen in awhile. It’s a great study to invite friends to come to and experience Shiloh.
  • Friday noon women’s luncheon study continues with “Hoping for Something More” and the men continue to meet Saturday @ 7 am at the Dairy Queen working with Mark and Thursday evenings at 7 diving into Genesis.
