Hey Youth! Hold onto your hats!

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

November was fabulous for Youth Ministry and we are really looking imageforward to December! We kicked off our new study based on the movie “To Save a Life”, have had wonderful discussion concerning the issues in this movie, shopped for at least 5 shoeboxes, made stockings for the children of inmates and served a wonderful meal to the residents of McCauley House. I don’t know if we can beat that in December! Our youth parents are the real heroes in all this ministry as they shuffle schedules and provide continuous support for both their kids and kids they barely know.

Here comes December so hold onto your hats!
December 7 - Breath of Life (meet at Goshen Store at 5:30)
December 14 - Friendship Manor with the choir to perform the cantata
December 18 - Youth will have reading parts during the cantata

YOUTH GROUP NEWS FOR SEPTEMBER

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

imageWhere did the summer go? It seems crazy that we are back into the school routine! A big thank you to all of you who were involved in Impact Appalachia! We have been learning about God’s purposes for our lives and scripture tells us that God has created us to serve others and that is exactly what you all did at The Joy Center. Served others. We’ll definitely do it again!
Speaking of serving others, we will travel to EDGE this month to sort shoes for their shoe ministry. Selling used shoes pays for clean water throughout the world! How amazing is that? Wear clothes that can get dirty and bring your servants heart.
Mark your calendars:
Sept 7 - Breath of Life(Goshen Store at 5:30)
Sept 14 - Soul Surfer Documentary
Sept 21 -Surprise Evening
Sept 28 - EDGE Outreach shoe sorting!(Goshen Store at 5:30)

Blessings, Pastor Susan, Joy and Sherry
