School is out!! image

We are looking forward to a more relaxed schedule for Youth this summer! So nice to not have to worry about unfinished homework!

We will begin Simply Summer at Shiloh on June 15 so make sure and invite your friends and neighbors. The food will be great and the relaxed time to be outside and hang out is always a blessing. We will have students at Loucon during much of the month of June. They love to get mail at camp so keep me posted on when your student will be at camp and we can all try to dash off a note to them.

Here’s the schedule of events:
June 1 - Breath of Life
June 8 - EDGE Outreach - shoe sorting
June 15 - Simply Summer at Shiloh kick-off!

June 22-29-food, fun, games and Youth groups

Youth Group News

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Hey young people, We are winding down the school year and gearing up for summer! We already have 10 people signed up to attend Loucon Camp!!
Can you feel my excitement?!

I LOVE Loucon Camp! April will be a busy month so mark your calendars.

April 6 - Breath of Life - meet at Goshen Store at 5:30
April 13-Meet at Shiloh
April 20 - Prayer Vigil and Labyrinth Building
April 27 - Youth Outing

Pastor Susan, Joy and I are in the midst of planning a 30 Hour Famine, in conjunction with World Vision, for May. We will be sharing the details of this event with you in April. This will be a great way for us to recognize the hunger that so many children face each day of their lives and to support World Visions efforts to alleviate their hunger.
We’d love to see your bright and shining faces on Sunday morning for Sunday School. When you’re not there, you are definitely missed! Sherry, Joy & Pastor Susan

Hey Shiloh Youth!

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Before we move onto March, congrats to the Youth for putting on a great Valentine luncheon!  I think everyone was blessed by this event!  And a huge thank you to the congregation for their love offering to the youth.  Over $500.00 was added to the Youth account!  Lives will be imagechanged by your generosity!

Okay, now for March!  Of course we will be heading to Breath of Life on March 2.  The congregation at Breath of Life is growing; and Joy, Tanya and I could use a couple additional sets of hands. If you are looking for a place to work where God is working, you will be blessed to join us in our ministry to this amazing congregation.
March 9 is Ash Wednesday so the Youth group will meet at the regularly scheduled time, 7:00, in the sanctuary for our Ash Wed service.  All parents are urged to join us!
March 23 the Youth will have a yet-to-be-determined outing!  Bowling, roller skating, ice skating and geocaching have all been suggested.  If you have a preference, let us know.  We are planning on meeting a little earlier that night in order to be back at Shiloh by 8:30.

It’s Not Too Early to Plan Summer Camp!

Friday, February 11th, 2011

imageIf you do anything for your kids please send them to Loucon Camp or on a mission trip!  It is my one regret as a parent that I didn’t put more emphasis on these two activities for our kids.  Don’t ask me what happens when a young person is at Loucon or doing mission work.  All I know is that God has us right where He wants us during these times and miracles happen!  Give this gift to your child!

I will be counseling at Adventure 3 with Dean Gary Maguffee on June 26-July 1.  If your child is going into 5th or 6th grade they can attend this camp with me.  Camps run continuously from June thru July and there is a camp for everyone so check out the website and sign your child up!!  (www.loucon.org)  Let the other youth parents know which camp your child is attending so they can consider sending their child at the same time.  Always great to have someone to carpool with!  If your child is at camp on the same week that I am there I will see them for meals and around camp each day.

The cost of a week of camp is right around $200. We will be using some of our Youth monies to help parents defray some of the costs.  If you have questions give me a call or corner me any Sunday or Wednesday at Youth.

Youth news for February

Friday, February 11th, 2011

We had a great turn out for Winter Blitz and imagecollected 5 huge bags of shoes for EDGE Outreach on Saturday afternoon!  Sixteen youth and four adults were able to enjoy the music, speakers and comedy! Not to mention the inflatables!  Go God!

The Youth will sponsor a Valentine’s Day luncheon which will be held directly following morning worship on Sunday, February 13th.  I hope you all will plan to join us for some great food and service provided by your own Shiloh Youth.  There will be a love offering given to support the youth at camps and missions over the summer.  Please plan to attend!

Happy New Year to All our Youth!

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

You all ended 2010 with a flurry of stocking making, Christmas box filling, pageant performing, and partying fun and it’s time to begin 2011 without pausing too much.

Join us each Wednesday at 7:00 and have fun with friends as we also learn how to have fellowship with God.

Don’t miss the first Wednesday of each month as we go to Breath of Life at 5:30 to share good times with our friends there.image

Save the weekend of January 28-30th —we’re off to WinterBlitz at Broadbent Arena this year for Friday evening through Saturday evening with a lock-in for Friday night at two of our youth leaders’ homes.
